About these terms
These terms govern your use of the Selah iOS app, made by SymphonicGrow. By downloading or using Selah, you agree to them.
1. What Selah is
Selah is a Bible verse memorization app: it bundles public-domain Scripture, schedules your review using spaced repetition, and offers practice modes and audio. It is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Selah on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy the app, modify it, reverse-engineer it, resell it, or redistribute it, except where the law expressly permits.
3. Scripture and audio
— The Berean Standard Bible and King James Version texts bundled in Selah are in the public domain.
— Chapter narration audio is drawn from public-domain recordings (narrated by Bob Souer, Barry Hays, and Jordan Scott Gilbert, via openbible.com).
— Verse audio in practice sessions is synthesized on your device.
The Scripture itself is free — Selah never charges for reading the Bible. Selah is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the producers of these public-domain texts or recordings.
4. Purchases
Selah offers one optional one-time purchase, Selah Forever, which unlocks an unlimited memory-verse list. It is a non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple, shareable with your Family Sharing group, and yours for the life of the app — it is not a subscription and never renews. Billing, receipts, and refunds are handled solely by Apple under the App Store terms; refund requests must be made through Apple.
5. Your data
Your verse list, practice history, and settings are stored only on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, and no copy of your data. You are responsible for your own device backups; deleting the app deletes its data. See the Privacy Policy for details.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use Selah in any way that violates the law, infringes others' rights, or attempts to interfere with the app's operation or the third-party servers it downloads public-domain audio from.
7. No warranty
Selah is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that content (including Scripture text and audio) is free of typographical errors, or that downloaded audio will always be available from third-party hosts.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SymphonicGrow shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Selah. To the extent any liability is not excludable, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app's in-app purchase in the twelve months before the claim arose.
9. Changes and termination
We may update, change, or discontinue features of the app, and may update these terms; the current version will always be posted at this page with its effective date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Your license ends automatically if you breach these terms.
10. Apple
These terms are between you and SymphonicGrow, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for Selah and is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.
11. General
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These terms are the entire agreement between you and SymphonicGrow regarding Selah.
