About this policy
Selah is a Bible verse memorization app made by SymphonicGrow. This policy explains what data Selah handles — which is, by design, almost nothing.
The short version: Selah has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.
What stays on your device
All of the following is stored only on your device and never sent to us or anyone else:
— The verses you choose to memorize and your practice history
— Your review schedule, memory-strength data, streaks, and statistics
— Your settings (translation, practice style, voice, reading speed, narrator)
Deleting the app deletes all of this data. If you use iCloud device backups, your device may include Selah's local data in your backup — that backup is governed by Apple's privacy policy and is not accessible to us.
What never gets collected
— No name, email address, phone number, or account of any kind
— No location data
— No contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access
— No analytics, advertising identifiers, or third-party tracking SDKs of any kind
Network use
Selah works fully offline, with one exception: chapter narration audio. When you first play a chapter's narration in the Bible tab, the app downloads that audio file from openbible.com (public-domain recordings). This is an ordinary web download — the server involved can see your device's IP address, as with any internet request. The file is then cached on your device, so replays work offline and involve no further network activity. We receive nothing from this process.
Verse audio in practice sessions is generated entirely on your device by Apple's built-in speech synthesis and involves no network activity.
Purchases
Selah offers a single one-time purchase (“Selah Forever”) processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details, name, or billing information. Purchase records and receipts are managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
Children
Selah is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date. Since the app collects nothing, meaningful changes are unlikely.
